Purpose and objectives

The "Ukrainian Psychoanalytic Journal" aims to highlight the current work of psychoanalytic researchers and practitioners from Ukraine, publish theoretical and applied psychoanalytic research related to Ukrainian society and psychoanalysis in Ukraine, and promote translations of psychoanalytic works in Ukrainian.

This journal focuses on a wide range of issues of psychoanalytic theory and practice:

  • understanding and rethinking psychoanalytic concepts;
  • clinical experience of psychoanalytic work individually, in pairs, and groups;
  • application of psychoanalytical optics to understand social, cultural, and historical phenomena;
  • applied psychoanalysis of empirical data, works of art, and other products.

In addition to the above, the journal publishes translations, book reviews, and resolutions of conferences and seminars.

Objectives of the Journal

  • to promote the development of psychoanalytic theory and practice in Ukraine and in the international academic community;
  • to publish the results of contemporary theoretical, clinical, and applied research in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy;
  • to address current issues in psychoanalysis, including the study of unconscious processes, psychic dynamics, and mechanisms of psychological functioning;
  • to popularize the psychoanalytic approach to understanding individual, social, cultural, and historical phenomena;
  • to foster professional dialogue between researchers and practitioners in the field of psychoanalysis;
  • to integrate Ukrainian psychoanalytic research into the global academic space;
  • to support the publication of translations of classical and modern psychoanalytic works into Ukrainian;
  • to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge through reviews, analytical overviews, conference materials, and academic events;
  • to ensure high standards of scholarly publishing through rigorous peer review and adherence to academic integrity principles.
